Description:
TAMSK is a game for 2 players, which is played under permanent time pressure. Both players start the game with 3 hourglasses and 32 rings. The hourglasses are the playing pieces; the aim is to get rid of as many rings as possible. Each turn you must move one of your hourglasses and turn it over; next you may play a ring in the newly covered space. The more spaces you visit, the more rings you will be able to play. But watch your hourglasses closely; each one that runs out of time is lost!
TAMSK introduces time as a substantial strategic element. If you are prepared to think fast and to play quickly without losing your cool, then you have the right attitude. Enjoy the pressure!

| Very Unique!
I have played an incredible number of games but have never come across another game like this one. It uses hourglasses as playing pieces, and makes time an important component of this game. Since it is a strategy game like chess, you have to use your time to plan ahead before you make your moves. However you need to be cautious of the time.

Brillaint. A truely four dimensional game.
One can use time to outwit the opponent. e.g If the second player plays the first few moves very quickly and then force a 30sec play, he can watch his opponents time piece run out of sand.
Lots of strategy in this game.

| Am I missing something?
Maybe I didn't fully appreciate the complexity of this game. But, assuming I'm an average person, neither will anyone else. This game is my least favorite out of the GIPF project games. Although, the designers had an original idea (using time pieces as actual playing pieces that have time limits), the concept needs development. The game felt easy and pointless. It was hard to figure out what kinds of moves would make you win, and the time limits were not short enough to add any stress to the game. They were just long enough that you didn't really worry about it, but just short enough that you felt annoyed at being forced to take an action. I would recommend DVONN or ZERTZ instead of this game.
