Description:
In Citadels, you are a medieval ruler trying to complete your city before your opponents can build theirs. Expand your city by adding new districts, but be sure to invest wisely: Some districts are more valuable than others, but cost more gold to build.
There is more to ruling a city than gold, however. Lords, ladies, and other nobility all have a role to play. The game changes each turn as each player secretly chooses a new role -- the Assassin, Thief, Magician, King, Bishop, Merchant, Architect, or Warlord -- and the power that comes with it.
This edition of Citadels includes 11 brand new expansion cards by the original game designer. These cards have never been published in any previous editions, and add a whole new level of diversity to your Citadels game.
Citadels is a card game of bluffing, diplomacy, and city-building for two to seven players, ages 10 and up. Citadels is playable in 20 to 60 minutes.

| 5 star 2 player game
I haven't played it with more then 2 players yet, but I absolutely adore the decision making of the character choosing at the begging. A fabulous game for 2 players, and from what I have heard, it's also great for more.

| Great All-around game
Good game for whole family and strategic players alike. The game is simple enough for the whole family to enjoy. A lot of strategy can come into play to backstab other players. Enjoyment and repeatability goes way up when you mix in the extension characters (which normally comes with the game). Try to play with different characters each time. I like to randomly draw each character. For the second game, which normally follows, I like to use the alternate set of characters (the ones that weren't chosen for the first game).

| Balance of Power
A well balanced, interestingly structured, simple to understand but tactically copmlicated game.

| Great game
Played many many times. I wished I owned it, but my friend does. It's so cheap, I should just pick up a copy...
This game you can play mean streak, nice or be the king (queen) or assasin. The more players (up to 8) the better.

| LOVE IT!
I played the German version with my friends. The German version is called "Ohne Furcht und Adel" which means Without Fear and Nobility". The German version is alot nicer, since it doesn't use cardboard cutouts for gold, but still it's an awesome game.

| Excellent
Citadels is that perfect blend of game that keeps all players entertained even when it is not your turn. Just watching the game unfold is fun. I have found myself so engrossed in the play that the games end just sneaked up on me. It is fun with 5-6 players. It can drag with more but it is probably one of the fastest games for 7-8 players that still involves some thought.
