Description:
In 1490, Kaiser Maximilian I awarded Franz von Taxis the contract to deliver mail between the Kaiser's residences in Innsbruck and Brussels.
He did such a good job, that postal services in the country continue to be connected with the name Thurn and Taxis. With the introduction of postal carriages in the middle of the 17th century, members of the family were raised to Count status and given the hereditary title of Postmaster General. The game begins at this point in history.
Can you emulate the achievements of this family and build a successful postal network? Do you have the talent to connect the right cities to create an effective network and not lose sight of the need to acquire new carriages when they are needed? Plan your moves carefully and watch your opponents' moves carefully, so you are prepared to respond to them.
The game takes you back in time and gives you challenges that will bring you back to the game over and over.

Great family game
We're a gaming family, so I bought this to play with my retired parents and siblings a few months ago, and it's been one of our favorites. Simple to learn but enough variation to keep it interesting. However I would NOT recommend the "Power & Glory" extension. It makes the game play much longer but adds nothing.

Beautiful
This is a beautiful game. The striking colors and european setting really take you to a different time and place. That's not saying anything about the strategy involved. Although it is not quite as intense as Catan or Peurto Rice, it's a great game for getting those strategic juices going when you only have an hour to kill! Highly recommended!!!

Easy to Learn
I like this game because it's easy to learn, and although there is not very much player interaction each turn is quick. The game does not take long to play and although I've played it several times I am still trying to figure out the strategy involved. Some people have said that it is too similar to Ticket to Ride or Puerto Rico, but I find it to be quite unique.

Good Game
If you want to play a fun game in one hour, this is the game for you. It is very easy to pick up and has a good balance of luck and strategy. But it gets a bit repetitive (and maybe boring) after a couple of plays.

Very good
There are enough ways to accumulate points that it can take quite a few times to play before you discover the best strategies. Highly recommend it!

Excellent Game
This is another game I bought for Christmas 2006 and we just got around to reading the instructions and playing over Thanksgiving weekend 2007. Our family really enjoyed this game. Everybody used their own unique way to compete. I can't wait until Christmas break so we can have some more family game time.

Excellent Game
I have only played this once so far, but it was enjoyed by all and provided a challenge. The game requires thought and is very tactical. The only off-putting thing was trying to convince people to play a game based on the German Medieval Postal System! Rest assured that it is a very enjoyable game to play.

Great game
Our family loves this game. It's quite easy to learn esp compared to a game like Settlers of Catan. We also like the fact that you're learning geography as you play (Southern Germany and Austria). We also like that everyone is sort of playing their own game - you don't block other players or steal from them - everyone is building their own routes and you get different amounts of points depending on whether you built your route first, second, etc. I also love the artwork on this boardgame - it's absolutely amazing (not that it affects the game or anything!!) We would highly recommend this game.
