Description:
Life isn't fair... why should a game be?
Players take their places in the pecking order, from Greater Peon to Greater Dalmuti, and try to ditch the cards in their hands. From this simple concept comes an ingenious game by Richard Garfield.

OK, Dalmuti is, in essence, A fancied up version of "Scum" (or, more commonly, the slightly more offensive term referring to the rectum). The thing that makes it great is the staggered number of cards (1 one, 5 fives, 12 twelves, etc.), and the way the favored player order can switch by wither luck or skill. I've never had more fun with a card game than when I've put down good combos in this one. Worth the money.

| Great Party Game!
We love to play this game with friends! We can play over and over and never tire. Changing seats after every round is a must! We let the king, queen, and merchants sit on couches, while the pions are stuck on the floor. The king and queen jokes are endless depending on who has those seats each round. If you like card games, but need a little more interaction, this is a good game for you!

| great game
True, I have been playing this game since college, but now my husband and I play with our friends and teenagers - all together. It's just a great game that keeps everyone moving at the end of each hand, and we love to laugh and tease each other as we try to avoid the peon seat. We play with hats occasionally, but do enforce the card shuffling, dealing, and picking up role of the peon, and the dalmuti sits in the most comfy chair. It does take the right group of friends to make it a great game, so choose friends who don't take themselves too seriously, who play to win, but play more to have fun, and teach your children the same thing, and even if life isn't fair, it'll still be a great time!

| You are buying pretty cards
The same game is called "scum" and is played with a standard deck. One can find the rules online. Naturally they don't tell you anything about the game play on the back of the box so you can't figure out that you have already played this game.
I will say in the rule book they did have some history of the game which I found interesting, and the card are nicer.

This game is a lot like a drinking game played on college campuses for the last 25+ years. Richard Garfield has designed much better games than this game.

| Very Fun
Hi! I like to scream when I play this game because I get very excited and have so much fun! But sometimes I am quiet, it is a good game if you are tired, bored, or energetic! We used our deck so much we want and need a new deck!
