Description:
The imposing silhouette of Carcassonne sits like a throne in the light of the setting sun. The city also acts as a fortress, protecting those who live there with its impenetrable walls. Visit the city to discover its many features and to learn why it is so magnificent.
Carcassonne: the Castle is an exciting tile-laying competition between two players. Inside the castle walls, the city grows as the players place tiles and their followers: knights to guard the towers, heralds to spread the news, and merchants to sell their wares in the markets. The player who makes better use of his followers will lead the race around the castle wall, which is also the scoring track for the game. There are several items waiting on the castle wall for the first player to reach them. Each will prove useful to the player who acquires them.

Our Review:
This excellent 2-player adaptation of Carcassonne involves building up a city inside castle walls. The boundary constraints and wall bonus tiles provide for interesting variety from game to game. The scoring is less complex than the original game, but there are ample interaction opportunities to provide for interesting strategy.

Great 2 player version
The rules are somewhat simplified from the regular multi-player game, and it plays well and quickly. Many fun nights due to this great game. For our dates, my wife and I just go to dinner until the kids are in bed and then come back and play this game. Fun!

Excellent game. Lives up to the Carcassonne name.

great game for 2 players
My husband and I love Carcassonne but it's not a lot of fun when played with only 2 people. "The Castle" is more of a 2 player game. Nice game!

Two Person Treat
The game is perfect for two people. It has a lot of ways to score points, and it is satisfying to see them tallied as you go. But the fact that some points are not revealed until the final tally keeps it interesting.

Knizia does it again
The game creator (Knizia) has made many games that are very worth having in your game closet. This is a very good two player game. It doesn't support any more players, too bad....

Pretty good
I like Carcassonne, so I thought this would be an excellent addition. It's just not as fun as regular Carcassonne. Still, it's a pretty good game for two players.

Okay game--but not as good as Carcassonne
I had heard good things about this game before I tried it, but, once I played it, I was somewhat disappointed. This version of Carcassonne adds some new elements that are not present in the old Carcassonne, but nothing that would make this game better than the original Carcassonne. Also, this game can only support two players, while the original can support two or more. My suggestion would be to buy the original Carcassonne instead.
