The Classic Game of Lovecraftian Monster Hunting Returns!
The town of Arkham, Massachusetts is in a panic. Horrific and bizarre events have begun to occur with increasing frequency—all seeming to point towards some cataclysmic event in the near future that may spell disaster for everyone. Only one small band of investigators can save Arkham from the Great Old Ones and destruction!
Arkham Horror was originally published by Chaosium, Inc. almost two decades ago. This new, updated edition features stunning new artwork and graphical design as well as revised and expanded rules! | Foolish Mortals
Fantasy Flight has just became my second favourite board game company. AH is a very fun game with interesting mechanics and one does not have to be a Lovecraft-buff in order to enjoy participating. The game is tough but beatable (We've had 2 wins, 3 losses). As soon as you've defeated the Ancient One you will want to play again right away. There is definitely a steep learning curve to this game, however, if you watch some tutorials on YouTube, many Rulebook issues are explained. The only real negative things I can say about this game are that the dice which come with the package are basic d6s (with everything else in the game having a high thematic value, the boring d6s feel out of place)... And plastic miniatures instead of cardboard ones for the investigators would have been nice but they still do look good. Still, Arkham Horror is totally worth the $45 I paid for it.

| Excellent Game
For a group of 3 - 8 (in my opinion) is an excellent game. Everyone works together, so no drama. Gameplay is suspenseful and full of variety, so you can play this game over and over without getting old since you never know what the outcome will be.
The gameplay itself can be very confusing and take a few games and several read-throughs of the rulebook to fully understand, but once you get the hang of everything you will not be dissappointed.
The expansions to the game add to the variety and (in my opinion) add to the fun. Good luck and enjoy.

| Complex but Rewarding
Arkham combines tense action with cooperation against the game itself, which can vary between impossibly hard and childishly simple. While bringing new players up to speed is a chore due to the complex rule system, gameplay is addictive and victory is rarely assured, but vastly rewarding. The game is best played with 4 players, and the difficulty increases with fewer or more players, with more players leading to some unavoidable lulls between turns. Gameplay typically lasts between 2 and 4 hours, and the game's immersive history and storytelling keeps players invested. The expansion scale the game, in both difficulty and playability, and the game is rarely, if ever, repetitive. An excellent game, but a definite time investment.
