Description:
Bean farming was never so much fun! In Bohnanza, you have two or three bean fields and a handful of bean cards to plant in those fields. When you sell beans, you earn more for growing more of one variety than a few of several. Thus, you want to plant as many of your favorites as you can. But you must plant the beans in your hand in the order you got them. To get rid of the beans you don't want to plant, you trade them to other players for those you want. With clever trading, you get the cards you want without helping the other players too much. In the end, the player who earns the most gold is the winner!

Our Review:
In the card game of Bohnanza, each player takes on the role of an entrepreneurial bean farmer. Players plant their beans in their bean fields, hoping for a plentiful harvest that will yield large amounts of wealth--the more beans of the same type that you can harvest, the greater the payout. However, because you can only plant beans of the same type in your fields, and because you must plant beans in the order you draw them, trading is the centerpiece of the game. The trading dynamic keeps the game exciting no matter whose turn it is.
Bohnanza plays best with three or more players (the more the better). The cards are high quality and feature top-notch artwork. The best part of Bohnanza is that it can be played casually, but it is still extremely fun and highly interactive. Bohnanza is an extremely popular game for a reason--you won't be disappointed.

Love it!
My hubby and I absolutely LOVE this game. It's so interactive. My hubby is very creative about trading and it always seems to pay off. He'll offer things like, "I don't have anything to trade with you right now but if you give me that Cocoa Bean, I'll let you have the pick of my hand on every one of my turns for the next 3 times around."

Simple, yet interesting.
I tried this out with five other people and we enjoyed it once we read through all the pages of instructions. Now that we have the hang of it, I think it will become one of our standards.

I first played this game with 10 friends and to say the least, it was one hilarious time. The trading aspect can make this game very interesting, and who can't love the crazy bean cards.

Casual Game
Ok the first time I played this game was with two other people. Right off the bat I found the trading aspect REALLY opened up doors for some fun and interesting dialogue. The game is simple, so don't look for any deep, or calculated strategizing. Overall the game was simple and fun.

It happens every time...
I can't count how many times I've played this game, only to have a passerby laugh at our absured, bean peddling outbursts. When we then try to explain to this person the reason we are shouting about beans, they only grow more convinced of our insanity.
HOWEVER...as soon as they start playing, they quickly become one of us, cackling with delight over a successful Red Bean harvest.
This game is like a cult, but in a good way (I think).

Easy to learn and very fun
This game is a load of fun. It is easy to learn, encourages communication and has the perfect amount of strategy for a pick-up and play party game.
